Photo Journalism Class: Week 2

Last week’s assignment Home was a decent success. All of the students brought in pics and it was nice to see how different each one of us had interpreted the assignment… eh.. sorry.. weekly. Some focused on light, others on small details. My pictures went for a more wide-angle approach and the pictures together formed a small series: Wake up & Get Home from work. You can see my pics here: http://www.streetsofboston.com/gallery/1134461

I have an idea for my main project as well. I will pick one well (or not so) known architect from Boston or from its surroundings, study his or her influences, ideas and works and, based on what i learn from that, i will pic a building that this architect has made. This building will then be the focus of my pictures for this project. The pictures should describe the current use of the building (and how it may differ from its intended or original use) and its inhabitants and visitors.

The weekly of next week is to bring in 3 preliminary pics from one’s main project and 1 pic that shows a situation at an event related to the main project. This is going to be a tough weekly… i don’t know if i can do the research and shoot some pics before next class.

BTW: When Skip Schiel, our teacher, laughs, he looks remarkably like David Letterman

More blog about this in my next post; Week 3…. or maybe sooner.
